The Nautical Miles were an adventurous roots music band from Vancouver, BC. Over the course of their run, the band collaborated with visual artists, bluegrass bands, and brass quintets — always attempting to push the boundaries of the folk music genre.
Between 2003-2017 they released five albums, toured across BC and Canada, and performed at internationally renowned festivals. The CBC twice recorded their concerts for national broadcast and in 2013, their single Mythmaker debuted at #1 on CBC Radio 3’s chart show, The R3-30.
The band stopped playing together in 2017, after kids and careers began to get in the way. True to the band’s slogan - amiticia et musica - they remain close friends.
